Loads of us have boxes of old photographs – some passed down from previous generations and others taken in our youth. For those of us around in the 1960’s, many of our childhood pictures are imprisioned on slides, rarely seeing the light of day. All these precious memories can be given a new lease of life and shared round the family.
Using a special technique, Matt photographs the image and converts it to a high quality digital image. Using his expert photohop skills Matt can then remove blemishes, improve clarity and bring out details that you never know were there. Prints can then be made to fit your frames or of course, you can commission Matt to make you a frame.

Here is a mini online exhibition of some of Matt’s artworks that were in the Shoreline Exhibition. Many of them are available as cards as well as prints. They are all printed individually by Matt and are from £40 unframed to £100 mounted and framed. The frames are beautifully made by Matt from recycled oak floorboards and will compliment all homes, from the traditional to the avant garde.
Our next exhibition ‘Shoreline’ opens on the 5th March at Studio22B & gallery, Sough, BB18 6SZ.
It will be a preview evening with a difference, encompassing the sound and vision of the coast. Obviously there will be paintings by Aly (AC Telfer) and photography by Matt (Darkside Photography),
including previously unexhibited work.
All welcome at the preview evening on Sunday 5th at 7.15pm.

Both workshops featured dramatic lighting this week: at Photography Night, which was meant to be sunset themed, a fabulous storm raged, resulting a intermittent electricity cuts and a Hammer House of Horror atmosphere. The Life Drawers would have loved that lighting for their Prehistoric session, but made do with candles. They had exciting action poses to compensate though!
Life Drawing is back in a fortnight (29/9) and Photography Night on Tuesday (20/9) at which they will be ‘shooting from the hip’. Cameras at dawn then…
