October Bulletin

Take Off by Matt Gartside.

It has been a busy time in and out of the studio for both of us. Matt has been photographing work for various artists, including painters, illustrators and stonemasons. Many of these will become published giclee prints, which he can now offer up to A1. He has also been out and about on various commissions including photographing paragliders for Burnley Magazine and community arts events. He is also about to start a series of three photography workshops for adults at Burnley Youth Theatre. Each session is a stand alone so its not too late to join in. As well as commisioned and teaching work he has also been busy editing his personal work, some of which will be on display at our next Open Studio. This is on Saturday November 9th 10 am – 6pm. As in the September one we will be doing workshops again – watch this space for details.

More Jackdaws Acrylic on primed card. Work in progress.

In the studio, Aly has been getting on with a couple of oil paintings, drawings using charcoal, pastels plus whatever else is handy, and some acrylics. She recently exhibited at the Central Lancashire Art Fair in New Longton and can be found at Otley Artisan Fair the last weekend of October (Sunday 10-1) and Kelbrook Art Fair the first weekend of November. Otley is in The Courthouse and the fair is actually in what was what the courtroom. The building is now an arts centre. The farmers market in Otley is on the same day, so a good little trip out. Kelbrook is a in the village hall and consists invited quality stalls. As an added bonus there is rather lovely homemade cake in the cafe too.
